Documents for travel
Cambodia
Documents required for entry into the country:
Passport: Valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
At the time of booking, a clear and legible scan of each participant's passport will be requested.
Entry visa, issued by Cambodian diplomatic and consular missions abroad or, for short tourist stays, obtainable at land borders or on arrival at international airports. Besides Cambodian diplomatic and consular missions or the border on arrival by air, sea or land, the tourist visa can be applied for before departure through the online procedure at the following website: https:/www.evisa.gov.kh/; the online tourist visa (type T) costs 36 USD. The visa is valid for 30 days, extendable by a maximum of a further 30.
For business purposes or for retirees, a type E visa is required instead, at a cost of 42 USD.
The E-Visa procedure requires a scan of the passport and a passport photo, and payment is made by credit card. The procedure takes around three days. There have been cases of Italian nationals who, despite having completed the procedure through the E-Visa portal, unfortunately had to repeat the entire procedure on arrival at the border. To obtain a tourist visa at the border, it is advisable to have two passport photos with a white background to hand (otherwise an additional fee may be charged).
The transit visa (Type "D") can also be applied for at https:/www.evisa.gov.kh and allows transit through Cambodia, within 3 months of issue, for a maximum of 3 days. For clarification and any further information on the E-Visa, contact the competent Cambodian authorities: the "E-Visa Bureau of the Legal and Consular Department" of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, +855 23 224 972 (fax +855 23 224 973), cambodiaevisa@evisa.gov.kh
Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA)
Since 10 September 2024, following a trial phase, entry into Cambodia requires completion - within 7 days before arrival - of the registration form via the "Cambodia e-Arrival" smartphone app, which replaces the previous paper customs and stay forms handed to the Cambodian border authorities.
After registration, by uploading a photo and passport details and completing the "e-Arrival Card", the app generates a QR code that travellers must save on their devices or present in printed form to the immigration authorities on arrival in Cambodia. The e-Arrival is not to be confused with a visa, but it does allow you to apply and pay for the visa directly within the app.
NB: registration is compulsory, regardless of whether you hold a visa (of any type) for entry into Cambodia.
