Documents required for entry into the country:

Passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Malaysia.

The Malaysian immigration authorities are particularly strict and allow no exceptions. Given the frequent cases of travellers being turned back at the border, sometimes because of the condition of the travel document (damaged pages or cover, etc.), please check the expiry date, validity and condition of your passport carefully before setting off.

Since 1 December 2023, the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) must be presented on arrival in the country. The application can be submitted online from three days before arrival in Malaysia: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.

Procedure:

1. Go to the website: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main
2. Click 'REGISTER' and fill in all the required fields;
3. Once registered, you will be issued with a PIN; we recommend taking a photo of it;
4. Nothing needs to be printed: simply show your passport at immigration as usual (it must always have 6 months' remaining validity).
