The whole country is generally considered safe. No particular risks are reported other than petty crime (outskirts, large cities, etc.).
TRANSPORT: excellent
A comprehensive, modern transport system covering the whole country (air, train, coach, metro, tram, taxi, ferries) makes it possible to reach any destination. Motorways are free of charge; tolls apply, however, on the bridges over the Great Belt and the Øresund (the Denmark-Sweden link). Hiring cars, motorbikes, campervans, bicycles and boats is easy and convenient. Well connected to Italy and all neighbouring countries.

ACCOMMODATION: excellent
Denmark offers a vast choice of accommodation of every kind, category and price. The international hotel classification (one to five stars) applies, alongside farm stays, B&Bs, guesthouses, hostels, campsites, and wellness and spa centres. There are numerous portals and websites useful for booking. The choice of restaurants is less varied.

RULES, LAWS AND CONDUCT: penalties for drug offences (possession and dealing) go up to a maximum of 6 years’ imprisonment. Crimes against the person are punished with imprisonment: 3 to 12 years for non-sexual violence, up to 4 years for negligent violence, up to 6 months for breach of the peace, honour and privacy, up to 2 years for threats, up to 6 months for insults, up to 10 years for child abuse. Homosexuality is legal and same-sex unions are recognised.
HEALTH: no compulsory vaccinations. The health situation is very good. The standard of local health facilities is excellent and medicines are readily available. Italian citizens travelling temporarily and holding a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) receive the care provided by the local public health service.

CLIMATE: continental, cold in winter and temperate in summer. The best time to visit the country is from late May to mid-September: the days are long and fairly sunny, the nights cool. Winter, from early December to mid-March, is cold and rainy.
