Our escorted tours in Poland and the Baltic States
The Guiness journey sets out to reveal the most interesting, and least known, places that these lands so generously have to offer, with the peace of mind of an escorted tour with a tour leader always departing from Italy and guided visits included.
Poland, with its special atmosphere, is among the most exciting destinations off the beaten track. From Gdańsk, “the pearl of the Baltic” with its clear Flemish influences, the itinerary leads to Malbork, to the Castle of the Teutonic Knights, the largest in Europe in the Gothic style; then to Poznań, the sacred flower of Europe, and beautiful Kraków; before reaching the “undiscovered” Masuria: the land of the great lakes.
The Baltic States. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are known as “the three jewels of the North”, offering heavenly scenery of wide rocky beaches and ancient forests dotted with great expanses of water, yet also rich in history and art. Estonia, with its castles, churches and hill-top fortresses, offers breathtaking views. In Riga, in Latvia, charming wooden buildings and Art Nouveau architecture dominate. Vilnius, in Lithuania, is characterised by a great variety of styles: from the majesty of Gothic architecture, to the charm of the Renaissance, to the eccentricity of the Baroque.
