Our escorted tours in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia

A Guiness Travel tour invites you to discover these wonderful lands, with the peace of mind of an escorted tour with a tour leader travelling with you from Italy and guided visits included.

The land of Dragons: Slovenia, where folklore and legends delight its visitors. Ljubljana, a much-loved destination for its ancient heritage of medieval charm, rich in Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau influences, where you can admire the works of the architect Jože Plečnik. The brave of spirit will feel the pull of the depths of the Postojna Caves …but beware of the Dragons!

Next comes Croatia, which has all the iridescent blues of the sea and countryside in brilliant shades of emerald green, but is also a paradise for culture. It is enchanting to stroll through Zagreb, in the historic centre, and come across wonderful parks and gardens or places of historical and cultural interest, such as the National Theatre, the CathedralLotrščak Tower, and the Parliament. At Plitvice we find a natural paradise, the Plitvice Lakes National Park, hidden among lush woods crossed by gentle streams and small lakes, linked to one another by waterfalls and footpaths.

Belgrade (Serbia) is lively, modern and dynamic, forever expanding and developing, with long straight boulevards shaded by plane and lime trees, lined with historic buildings and wide green spaces. Among its points of interest is the bohemian Skadarlija quarter, which grew up between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, at a time when its old taverns were the meeting place of the most famous names on the cultural scene.

Home to the three main monotheistic religions, Sarajevo is also known as the Jerusalem of the Balkans. From the very first moment, the city seems suspended between East and West. Here time seems to flow at a different pace from the one we are used to. The scents, the flavours and the city’s architecture, with its domes, minarets and bell towers, all lend it an exotic and spiritual air. For centuries Sarajevo has been a living example of multiculturalism and tolerance between different cultures and religions. In its streets the traces of a thousand-year relationship between East and West survive almost intact, together with those of the events that have shaped, for better and for worse, the history of Europe and the fate of the city itself
