Breakfast at the hotel – full-day excursion with a local guide and private coach - visit to Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (one of the oldest surviving structures of the Sengoku period) and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (the second-longest suspension bridge in the world. It is 282.8 m high and 3,911 metres long. Its main span is 1,991 metres long. Opened on 5 April 1998, it links the city of Kobe on the island of Honshu to Awaji Island, crossing the Akashi Strait) – lunch at leisure – return to the hotel in the evening - dinner in a restaurant - after dinner, Osaka by night: a walk with your tour leader in the Dotonbori area – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – in the morning, tour of Osaka with a local guide: the Castle, the Dotonbori area, the Umeda Sky Building (the northern district of Kita, with the largest underground shopping centre in all Japan and an impressive concentration of offices, banks and hotels. Breakfast at the hotel – transfer to the station – departure on the Shinkansen bullet train, reserved second-class seats, for Miyajima Hiroshima – boat excursion to Miyajima Island and the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (under restoration) – lunch at leisure – in the afternoon, continue by coach to Hiroshima - visit with a local guide to the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - in the late afternoon, departure on the Shinkansen bullet train, reserved second-class seats, for Kyoto (luggage travels separately and will be delivered directly to the hotel in the evening) – on arrival in Kyoto, transfer by coach to the hotel – dinner in a restaurant – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel - full day devoted to a tour of Kyoto with a local guide – Kiyomizu-dera Temple and the Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka lanes, Fushimi Inari Shrine (the best known of the 3,000 in Japan and the most visited by pilgrims) – lunch at leisure - dinner in a restaurant – after dinner, Kyoto by night: a walk with your tour leader, using public transport, through the Gion district (with its typical narrow streets and low wooden houses that take us back 300 years) and the streets of the Pontocho district, well known for its geisha - return to the hotel – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – full-day excursion with a local guide – in the morning, visit to Arashiyama with a walk through the bamboo grove, and the Tenryu-ji Temple,– lunch at leisure – in the afternoon, visit to Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Kinkaku-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - return to the hotel in the evening - dinner in a restaurant – evening at leisure – tour leader at your disposal – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – full-day excursion devoted to a visit to Nara & Uji with a local guide – visit to the Todai-ji Temple (one of the most important monuments of Nara, the ancient capital from 710 to 794, which houses the Great Buddha and architectural masterpieces designated National Treasures), the Kasuga Shrine (its vermilion-lacquered buildings offer a magnificent contrast with the green of the surrounding virgin forest, and the three thousand lanterns lining the approach to the shrine are a unique sight), Nara Park (with its characteristic deer) - the Byodo-in Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (built in 1052 by the Emperor’s Chief Adviser) - lunch at leisure – in the late afternoon, return to Kyoto – dinner in a restaurant – evening at leisure – tour leader at your disposal – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – transfer to the station - departure by express train, reserved second-class seats, for Kanazawa (luggage travels separately and will be delivered directly to the hotel in Hakone) - on arrival, tour with a local guide (the Castle ruins –exterior–, and the magnificent Kenrokuen garden, considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan, the Nagamachi samurai district, which has preserved the atmosphere of bygone days intact, visit to the Nomura samurai house, the old pleasure quarters, a walk through the Higashi Chayamachi district) – lunch at leisure – in the evening, check-in at the hotel - dinner at the hotel - after dinner, Kanazawa by night: a walk with your tour leader - overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – departure by coach for Shirakawago – visit with a local guide to the village with its traditional thatched roofs in the “gassho-zukuri” style - lunch at leisure – continue to Takayama – on arrival, tour with a local guide of the old feudal town with its old wooden houses (the Old Town and the Kusakabe Folk Art Museum) – transfer to the hotel – dinner at the hotel – evening at leisure – tour leader at your disposal – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – in the morning, visit with a local guide to the famous and typical Takayama Market, where farmers come every morning to sell their fresh produce – transfer to the station – departure on the Shinkansen bullet train, reserved second-class seats, for Mishima - on arrival, visit to the National Park and a pleasant boat trip on Lake Ashi at the foot of Mount Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site – lunch at leisure – in the afternoon, continue by ropeway to the Owakudani Valley, a volcanic area rich in natural geysers known as the Great Boiling Valley – in the evening, check-in at the hotel – dinner at the hotel - evening at leisure – tour leader at your disposal – overnight stay.

N.B. - in the event of volcanic activity, the Komagatake ropeway will be offered as an alternative to the Owakudani ropeway visit.
