Description
The Great Journey of the East: from the Rising Sun to the Celestial Empire. This is no ordinary itinerary but an epic spanning two age-old civilisations, an ideal bridge between the refined beauty of Japan and the imperial grandeur of China. A journey designed for those who wish to immerse themselves completely in the soul of Asia, discovering its most fascinating contrasts: from the silent spirituality of the temples to the vibrant energy of metropolises that never sleep. The adventure begins in Japan, in modern, lively Osaka. From here we head straight to Kyoto, the beating heart of tradition, where time seems to have stood still. The days unfold between the discovery of UNESCO masterpieces such as the Kinkakuji Temple, the celebrated Golden Pavilion, and unforgettable walks through the bamboo forest of Arashiyama and among the lanterns of the Gion quarter. After a visit to Nara, the ancient capital populated by sacred deer, the Shinkansen bullet train propels us into the future, into dazzling Tokyo. Here, between the world’s busiest crossing at Shibuya and the breathtaking view from the Tokyo Tower, we experience the essence of contemporary Japan. A flight changes the horizon, bringing us to China, into the heart of the "Celestial Empire". Beijing welcomes us on a monumental scale: we shall walk on the Great Wall, a work that defies the centuries, and pass through the gates of the Forbidden City, for six hundred years the nerve centre of power. A high-speed train will then take us to Xi’an, where one of the most thrilling archaeological discoveries in history awaits: the Terracotta Army, a silent host standing guard over eternity. The grand finale is Shanghai, the futuristic metropolis that embodies the unstoppable momentum of modern China. A walk along the Bund, with its iconic skyline, will seal a journey that unites past, present and future in an experience of incomparable richness.
The Legacy of the Emperors: Age-Old Wonders of Japan and China. An invisible thread runs through this journey across Japan and China: the monumental legacy left by Shoguns and Emperors. It is a route that takes us to walk on the very stones trodden by the powerful figures who forged the history of Asia, an immersion in their vision, their art and their quest for immortality. In China, this legacy reveals itself with breathtaking force. In Beijing we cross the threshold of the Forbidden City, a veritable city within a city with its 720,000 square metres and more than 9,000 rooms, feeling small before such absolute power. Not far away, the Great Wall winds like a stone dragon across the mountains, testimony not only to defence but to an imperial will capable of redrawing geography itself. In Xi’an, emotion turns almost to reverence before the Terracotta Army, the immortal host created to serve the first emperor even in the afterlife. In Japan, the same ambition finds expression in a different aesthetic, more intimate and in harmony with nature. In Kyoto we visit Nijo Castle, the residence of the Tokugawa Shogun, admiring its famous "nightingale floors", designed to sing at every step. We admire the Kinkakuji Temple, the Golden Pavilion mirrored in the water, the highest expression of an elegance that seeks perfection. This journey is not merely a visit to historic sites, but a profound dialogue with power and beauty, an encounter with the soul of two empires that live on through their magnificent works.
