Why this tour?

  1. to visit Potosí, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its silver mines
  2. to discover the enchantment of the largest salt flat in the world
  3. to visit two fantastic countries straddling the Andes

Bolivia.

Bolivia is an incredible country still waiting to be explored, a land that offers unique sensations and emotions: Andean peaks rising above 6,000 m, lush jungles, high-altitude lakes, salt flats, ancient traditions and colonial cities. A magnificent South American country, rich in natural resources, contrasts, cultures, biodiversity and extraordinary natural landscapes, Bolivia is the perfect destination for anyone wishing to enjoy an adventurous holiday and bring home unique memories.

Discovering Lake Titicaca, the immense lake shared by Bolivia and Peru at 3,800 m above sea level on the Andean altiplano, which holds the record as the highest lake on Earth and is dotted with floating islands as well as the Isla de la Luna and the Isla del Sol, on the Bolivian side, both of which can be visited. Embraced by evocative, almost permanently snow-capped peaks, it is navigable: so do not miss the chance to take a boat trip on its waters. It is impossible to come to Bolivia and not treat yourself to the thrill of visiting the largest salt flat in the world, the Salar de Uyuni, an incredible salt desert at an altitude of 3,653 m. Here dream brushes against reality and we find ourselves before one of the most magical and surreal places on our planet. At certain times of the year the Salar is completely dry; at others it is covered by a thin layer of water reflecting the blue of the sky and the white of the clouds: a spectacle not to be missed.

La Paz, the administrative capital of Bolivia, has been named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The city stands at 3,660 m and is distinguished by an evocative historic centre where you can pause to admire colonial-era houses and churches while losing yourself among the brightly coloured markets that spill into its streets. One above all? The Mercado de Hechicería (Witches' Market). Do not forget to sample Bolivia's culinary tradition and, on that note, try the salteñas, typical baked pasties filled with beef or chicken. The filling is enriched with a sauce that may be sweet, mildly spicy or very hot, according to taste. It is one of Bolivia's most famous street foods, best enjoyed piping hot as a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack or as an aperitif.
