Breakfast at the hotel – full day devoted to the Salt Flats – departure for the Salar (visit of the Train Cemetery and the town of Colchani, where you can watch the salt extraction process) – transfer to the edge of the Salar and, after the first photos, crossing of the salt desert to the village of Coquesa and ascent by 4x4 to the viewpoint on the Tunupa volcano for an overall view of the region – packed lunch - on to Incahuasi Island, the largest of a group of islands forming an isolated ecosystem, populated by a species of cactus growing up to 12 m tall and offering an impressive panorama of the area – sunset viewing and transfer to the bus station – dinner at leisure - departure by overnight coach to La Paz.

Arrival in the morning and transfer to the hotel – morning free to rest and relax – lunch in a restaurant - in the afternoon, guided visit of La Paz (the colonial Church of San Francisco and the Mercado de las Brujas, Plaza Murillo with the Cathedral and the Government Palace, Calle Linares with the shops of the Bolivian healers, the residential district of Sopocachi, the cable car down to the lower part of the city and the spectacular Moon Valley) - dinner in a restaurant – evening at leisure – tour leader on hand – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – departure on a 150 km journey along the Andean Cordillera and the shores of Lake Titicaca to the town of Copacabana - private boat cruise to the Island of the Sun, from where, according to legend, the founders of the Inca Empire set out - lunch in a typical local restaurant – visit of the archaeological site of Pilkokaina and the Inca Garden – return to Copacabana - crossing of the border into Peru at Kasani and on to Puno – dinner at the hotel – evening at leisure – tour leader on hand – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – full-day excursion – boarding and cruise on the beautiful Lake Titicaca - the highest navigable lake in the world, at 3,812 m above sea level - to reach the floating islands of the Uros, one of the most singular attractions in world tourism, whose inhabitants descend from one of the oldest cultures of the Americas – continuation to Taquile Island, a place where time seems to have stood still, and a meeting with an indigenous community of around 350 families who still live according to 14th-century traditions - lunch with a Taquile family or in a typical local restaurant – return to Puno in the evening – dinner at the hotel – evening at leisure – tour leader on hand – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – departure for Cusco (around 10 hours' actual travelling time) across the spectacular Cordillera of the Andes; along the way you will come across small villages and herds of llamas and alpacas. The journey includes visits to the Pucará Lithic Museum and the Temple of Raqchi, built in honour of the god Viracocha (still used as a sanctuary today, it is a highly renowned energy centre), as well as the spectacular Church of Andahuaylillas – lunch in a restaurant en route – late afternoon arrival in Cusco – dinner at the hotel – evening at leisure – tour leader on hand – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel - departure by coach through the magical landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, bound for the small town of Ollantaytambo. Along the way we visit the brightly coloured craft market of Chinchero and the Maras salt pans, fed by salt water from underground, from which salt was extracted (a commodity traded for other products from other parts of the Empire) – the village of Ollantaytambo, a large archaeological site and a typical example of Inca urban planning, a town of rest and lodging for groups undertaking long journeys - lunch in a restaurant – departure by tourist train to Aguas Calientes station – dinner at the hotel – overnight stay. N.B. – you need only take hand luggage with what you consider necessary for one night. Your main luggage can be left in storage at the hotel in Cusco.
