Description
Normandy, Brittany and the Châteaux of the Loire: a journey through French history, nature and traditions
A complete and captivating itinerary that crosses three of the most fascinating regions of France: Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley. This tour is designed for curious, discerning travellers keen to explore lands rich in history, natural beauty and local culture, with a well-paced programme of visits and a professional tour leader. In Normandy, evocative coastal landscapes intertwine with landmark sites of the Second World War, such as the landing beaches at Arromanches. Rouen, with its imposing Gothic cathedral and a historic centre bound up with the figure of Joan of Arc, is one of the cultural hearts of the region. Brittany offers a completely different setting: jagged coastlines, stone villages, monumental calvaries and fortified towns such as Saint-Malo, which bear witness to a strong regional identity. The stop in the Loire Valley finally allows you to admire some of the most iconic châteaux in France, such as Chenonceau and Chambord, set in a harmonious landscape declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The programme includes guided visits, selected hotels in strategic locations and dinners in typical restaurants or good-quality hotels. An experience that lets you discover France at its most authentic, away from the beaten track, without giving up comfort and the continuous assistance of expert tour leaders.
Mont Saint-Michel and Brittany: a journey of myths, tides and stone villages
Mont Saint-Michel, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is one of the most recognisable icons of France and forms the symbolic heart of the journey through Brittany. The proposed itinerary allows you to visit this unique place calmly and well prepared, thanks to an expert guide who explains its thousand-year history, the architecture of the abbey and the spectacular phenomenon of the tides. To complete the experience, the tour passes through some of the most representative places in Brittany: Cancale, renowned for its oyster farming, Saint-Malo with its mighty walls overlooking the ocean, and Locronan, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in the region. The Pink Granite Coast, with its shifting colours and rock formations sculpted by the sea, adds a scenic dimension of rare beauty. Particular attention is paid to discovering Brittany’s religious and artistic heritage through visits to the monumental calvaries of Saint-Thégonnec and Guimiliau, extraordinary examples of folk art carved in stone. An ideal journey for those wishing to discover Brittany in depth, alternating culture, nature and folklore, with the added value of a programme planned down to the last detail.
