Breakfast at the hotel – transfer to the airport – departure for Paro on a scheduled Druk Air flight – on arrival, transfer to Thimphu – hotel check-in and free time to relax - lunch at leisure – in the afternoon, guided visit of the Tashichhoedzong monastery, which over the years has also housed part of the country’s government, at first, and later the king – return to the hotel - dinner at the hotel – tour leader available – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – full day devoted to visiting the city and its valley (the post office in the heart of the city, the Zorig Chusum institute of painting - the Takin Reserve, where the national animal roams freely in a vast area of unspoilt woodland) - lunch in a restaurant – in the afternoon, the visit continues in the surroundings of the city that dominates the valley (Thangtong Dewachen Nunnery, the only nunnery in the capital – Kuensel Phodrang, a viewpoint over the city dominated by an imposing statue of the Buddha – the National Memorial Chorten, the monument that symbolises the country, whose imagery closely follows Buddhist philosophy) - return to the hotel - dinner at the hotel - tour leader available - overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – in the morning, departure for Punakha along a breathtaking road over the Dochula pass at 3,000 m, with views of the Himalayan peaks, where we can take part in the Lung Dar ceremony, hanging Tibetan prayer flags as a sign of good fortune. Stop along the way to visit the village of Lobesa with a halt at the Chimi Lhakhang monastery, a sacred site built in 1499 and dedicated to blessings of fertility – arrival in Punakha – check-in and lunch at the hotel – in the afternoon, visit of Punakha Dzong, an ancient fortress and the summer residence of the head of the monastic order - return to the hotel - dinner at the hotel - tour leader available - overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – full day devoted to visiting the town and its surroundings – we walk for about an hour up through the forest and towards the rice fields, from the banks of the Mo Chhu river to the upper end of the valley and the Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten, an astonishing monument recently commissioned by the queen and consecrated in 1999. This temple stands on a hill with a splendid view over the whole valley, the rice paddies and the river flowing slowly down towards the plain – lunch in a restaurant – in the afternoon, visit of the picturesque villages of Talo and Nobgang – stop along the way at the Sangchen Dorji Lhendrup monastery, perched on a ridge, which houses one of the largest bronze statues in the country, of Avalokiteshvara, an important figure in the Buddhist religion – visit of Nalanda monastery to meet and talk with the monks, senior scholars of Buddhism – dinner at the hotel – evening at leisure – tour leader available – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – departure for Paro – on arrival, visit of the National Museum, which houses a fascinating collection of ancient artefacts bearing witness to the kingdom’s rich culture and heritage – short walk to the Dzong, the city’s fortress, a fine example of Bhutan’s historic architecture – continuation to the Nyamai Zampa bridge, which leads us to the city temple, built in 1525 and remarkable for its entirely hand-decorated walls – lunch in a restaurant – in the afternoon, visit of Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monuments and temples in the country - dinner at the hotel – in the evening, a stroll through the town centre with the tour leader – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – in the morning, visit of one of the most venerated monasteries, Taktshang Goemba, better known as the “Tiger’s Nest”. The path that winds up the rocky peak on which the monastery stands offers spectacular views of the monastery itself and of the valley – lunch in a restaurant – in the afternoon, visit of a farm where we can taste the traditional butter tea together with a local family – return to the hotel – dinner at the hotel - evening at leisure – tour leader available – overnight stay.

Transfer to the airport – departure from Paro on a scheduled Druk Air flight to Kathmandu – on arrival, meeting with the guide – full day devoted to visiting the capital of Nepal - visit of the Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and of the Boudhanath Stupa, the largest Buddhist monument in the world, and of a Buddhist monastery where you can talk and interact with the resident monks – lunch in a restaurant - in the afternoon, continuation and guided visit of Bhaktapur, the best-preserved medieval city in the Kathmandu Valley, with some of its finest religious architecture and also known as the “city of devotees”, where we will watch traditional ceramic objects being made, and of the Changu Narayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, overlooking the terraced rice fields that dominate the valley - return to the hotel in Kathmandu - dinner at the hotel – evening at leisure – tour leader available – overnight stay.
