Arrival at the airport in Tokyo – onward scheduled flight to Sapporo – on arrival in Sapporo, transfer to the hotel – dinner at leisure – evening at leisure – tour leader on hand – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel - full day devoted to a guided tour of Sapporo, a city of green spaces, bold art installations, a fine culinary scene and a famous beer (the Clock Tower, Odori Park, Nijo Market, the Sapporo Beer Museum, the Historical Village) - street-food lunch at leisure at the Nijo fish market, with tastings of superbly fresh fish - dinner in a typical restaurant - after dinner, Sapporo by night: visit with the tour leader to Susukino, the largest entertainment and nightlife district in northern Japan – overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel - visits to the towns of Furano, with its characteristic farms, and Biei, and to the Blue Pond (a lake of turquoise waters whose hue changes with the seasons and the weather) – on to Sounkyo – lunch at leisure - dinner at the hotel/restaurant – evening at leisure - tour leader on hand - overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel - departure from Sapporo - visit to Shikotsu-Toya National Park and Jigokudani, the Valley of Hell – lunch at leisure - afternoon arrival in the town of Noboribetsu, Hokkaido's most famous spa town (its waters are considered the best in Japan and make the town a lively wellness centre) – Noboribetsu lies in an evocative volcanic landscape and for this reason has always been the setting for fascinating legends rooted in Japanese mythology and superstition - dinner at the hotel - overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel - departure for Hakodate, stop at Lake Onuma, tour of Hakodate (the magnificent Western-style Goryokaku fortress with its gardens and the “European” Motomachi district) - the city is a picturesque centre with retro Western influences, also renowned for the beauty of its hinterland, its succulent seafood and its spectacular night views - street-food lunch at leisure at the Asaichi Morning Market to sample the local produce - dinner in a typical restaurant - after dinner, Hakodate by night: a stroll with the tour leader - overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel – transfer to the station - departure from Hakodate by Shinkansen bullet train, arriving in Tokyo in the afternoon – transfer to the hotel - check-in – free time - dinner in a restaurant - after dinner, Tokyo by night: a stroll with the tour leader using public transport in Shinjuku, the night-time Tokyo of Omoide Yokocho and Kabukicho – overnight stay.
