Why this tour?

  1. to combine the best of Thailand with a fantastic beach stay
  2. to discover Ayutthaya, “the ancient capital”
  3. to enjoy the white beaches of Phuket

Phuket. The largest island in Thailand and its main beach destination lies around 860 kilometres south of Bangkok. It is known as “the Pearl of the Andaman” and it is not hard to see why. Linked to the mainland by a causeway (the Sarasin Bridge), it greets visitors with its stretches of white sand lapped by clear turquoise waters. The backdrop to this waterscape is the green of the hills, the jungle and groves of coconut palms. Lying on the main trade routes between India and China, the island originally developed thanks to the exploitation of tin and rubber. The intense commercial traffic of the time gave the place a cosmopolitan flavour. Between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries, Phuket’s rich deposits of tin acted as a magnet for trade. The Chinese came first, bringing their traditions, followed by the European mining companies of Portugal, Holland and France, which King Rama V the Great invited in to help develop the industry. These visitors made their fortunes and turned Phuket into a little home from home, influencing the architectural style of its buildings too. For this reason we recommend a visit to the capital, Phuket Town. Today Phuket’s international character is unchanged, but the protagonists are different: no longer important merchants, but visitors from every corner of the planet, seduced by the island’s lush nature, its sea and the hospitality of its people. The variety of the landscape is the place’s greatest asset. The island, dominated by a chain of mountains running north-south along the west coast, encompasses numerous microclimates and a surprising variety of flora and fauna, alternating rocky headlands with long, wide crescent-shaped beaches, and limestone cliffs with hills cloaked in tropical forest. 54 km long and 22 wide, it has 17 white-sand beaches, an extremely varied panorama and, all around it, a spectacular necklace of more than 30 islands and islets. In Phuket, lovers of the sea and sunbathing will find the ideal spot, whether under a parasol with all the comforts offered by superbly equipped resorts or in secluded corners. Above all, though, the Pearl of the Andaman is the place that allows everyone to spend a holiday according to their own tastes, rhythms and needs. Phuket has only two seasons: the rainy season and the summer season, which runs from November to April. The island’s average temperature is between 25 and 32 degrees all year round, slightly cooler during the rainy season and very hot in April. We are very close to the Equator, and in Phuket the hours of daylight exactly match the hours of darkness.

The Phi Phi Islands in Thailand are one of the country’s main tourist destinations: Thai islands lying on the shores of the Andaman Sea, in the province of Krabi. This archipelago is known for two reasons: the first is the film The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and the second is the beauty of the islands that can be visited nearby. The Phi Phi Islands are an archipelago made up of 4 main islands: Koh Phi Phi Don, Koh Phi Phi Leh, Koh Pai or Bamboo Island and Koh Yung or Mosquito Island. The main one is Koh Phi Phi Don, home to the tourist facilities and the ports where the ferries from Phuket, Krabi and Koh Lanta arrive every day. This area is full of shops, diving schools, bars, resorts, restaurants and much more.
